This is my nearly 10-year old Nissan 240SX SE. I turbocharged it (KA24DET) and performed upgrades to the suspension, brakes, wheels, and tires. Photos are from October 2006.
I strive to create web sites that are as visually engaging as they are usable through my consulting practice New Spin Design. Web users are a demanding audience. They require something easy to navigate while still visually engaging.
"Web users are not a captive audience. Don't treat them like one."A page has just a few seconds to communicate its message before a user's internal timer buzzes and they've ventured off to either a) a subpage (success!) or b) another site (overwhelming sadness). With that in mind, I focus much of my attention on information architecture - content is king!Your About Page Is a Robot, Erin Kissane, A List Apart
A web site redesign should include a thorough reworking of the content. When a site grows in size exponentially it's easy for the original structure to be overwhelmed. This can be a minor irritation for some of the site's users, in the best case, or worse, product total user frustration and lead to loss of a customer.

I have been a professional web designer since 1999. I have a Graphic Design Certificate from the School of the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, and a B.A. from Hampshire College, where I majored in Applied Design. My thesis was a case study on a popular auto parts search engine. I carefully evaluated its aesthetics and funcionality, proposed a list of improvements, and did a mock redesign of the site.
You'll find I have a lighthearted copywriting style on this site, but I take my work very seriously. Design is a passion for me not just a hobby. I aim to make lasting improvements on the web, one site at a time.
My resume (PDF) is available for download. I won't insult you by saying you need Acrobat Reader to view it. You already knew that.
